Speculation about how social media is taking over tradional media.

SPECULATION ABOUT THE POWER AND THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA .

Ruth A.Harper says "The list of social media tools could probably run for paragraphs, and todays technology changes so raidly that industries ,including corporations and news media ,can barely keep up".source:http://www.studentpulse.com/articles/202/the-social-media-revolution-exploring-the-impact-on-journalism-and-news-media-organizations

This has increasingly become a problematic issue as todays audience choose what to read and also that believes that it should add content to what is being suggested. The shift whereby news or information is distributed to the audience to consume it has shifted and giving a platform to what is currently known as the social media revolution.

But this does not necessarly mean that journalism is dead. This is the new movement where journalism is affected by public opinion which is a democratic movement whereby people have a say. This has contributed in giving people a chance to become journalists of their own where they can communicate news stories on Facebook,Twitter and other platforms of social networks.

"We also take a close look on how social media will have an impact on businesses over the next decade and what skills do businesses need to improve to take advantage".

We firstly focus on the evolution of corporate communication.Social media has changed and also has revolutionized corporate communication. And also has changed how public relations campaigns or programme are distributed and mearsured. Not like traditional method of pure output, social media has gave a platform of which it forces corporate communications to shift to a dialogue in which stakeholders and not only companies have the message over companies.

Social media is regarded as a revolutionery communications tool that has quickly changed the way in which public relations is practiced ,And also becoming an integral part of coporate communications for many companies and also offering public relations practioners new options fo each and every aspect of the corporate communication process. This process has allowed companies to communicate directly and instantly with their stakeholders.

Add your comment do you believe in the social media revolution.Do you like how social media has given a chance for people to have their own say on particular issues. And do you believe that social media is taking over and what are your views on how business is practiced in relation to social media.

In depth on how social media is taking over traditional media.

Analysis on how social media is taking over traditional media!

It is evident enough that truely social media is taking over traditional media. As information is consumed virtually and socially through social media.Traditional media such as radio, television and the newspapers have moved online where it is seen that information is easly accesable and freely available. The new generation is much more exposed to more social media than traditional media and this has in turn made social media to be the new traditional media of the new generation.
The major pull factor of this is that social media is not controlled and traditional media is controlled. For example as we have followers on twitter and facebook information can be spread virally and quickly. The popularity of social media has changed the way PR is practised in the corporate world, as now we find press releases done online. Social media has a compatative advantage over traditional media as ordinary people have the platform to have their say on issues of importance.
For example if a particular event takes place it can be spread virally and much more quicker on social networks such as facebook and twitter. Social media will dominate and sooner and sooner we will say goobye to newspapers and hello to the new era of social networks.

Have your say on this topic,The question is,is it true that social media is taking over social media "COMMENT"share your mind on this issue.
